Configuring network settings for your debug hardware unit3.7 Modifying <strong>the</strong> network settings for a debug hardware unitYou can modify <strong>the</strong> network settings of a debug hardware unit only if that unit is on your localnetwork or connected to a USB port on your PC.NoteIf <strong>the</strong> debug hardware unit is on a different network, you must use <strong>the</strong> Configure New <strong>Debug</strong><strong>Hardware</strong> unit dialog box.3.7.1 PrerequisitesBefore you can configure <strong>the</strong> network settings, you must first determine <strong>the</strong> correct networksettings for your debug hardware unit:• If you do not want to use DHCP, <strong>the</strong>n you must obtain an IP Address, Default Gateway,and Subnet Mask from your network administrator.• If you want to use DHCP, you must inform your network administrator of <strong>the</strong> E<strong>the</strong>rnetAddress of <strong>the</strong> unit, so that it can be added to <strong>the</strong> DHCP server.3.7.2 ProcedureTo configure your debug hardware unit by manually entering an E<strong>the</strong>rnet address:1. Open <strong>the</strong> RVI Config IP utility.2. Click <strong>the</strong> Scan tool to scan for debug hardware units.3. Select <strong>the</strong> debug hardware unit you want to modify.4. Click <strong>the</strong> Identify tool to verify that <strong>the</strong> identification LEDs flash on <strong>the</strong> correct debughardware unit.5. Click <strong>the</strong> Configure tool to display <strong>the</strong> Configure <strong>Debug</strong> <strong>Hardware</strong> unit dialog box.
