EXECUTIVEDBADOCTORATE OF BUSINESSADMINISTRATIONProgramme ContentThe DBA is divided into two parts:Theory and Research(approximately two years)This period comprises research training workshops whichprovide participants with expertise in research methodsresearch design, data-collection and data analysistechniques. Participants will produce a state-of-the-artliterature review, a detailed research proposal and a pilotresearch project. They are trained to conduct, write up anddisseminate high quality research of doctoral standard. As aresult they will learn to think critically and link practice totheory and vice versa. Individuals will achieve a greater levelof effectiveness as practitioners in managing businessinnovation, technology and change.Faculty ExpertiseBoth IdM-SSSA and GEM bring together faculty with a broad range ofexpertise and an international reputation in research on businessinnovation, technology management and the organisational dimensions oftechnology change.The workshops are led by faculty from both institutions who areinternational leaders in their fields. In addition to this there are periodicworkshop contributions from alumni and guest speakers from industry.Research and Thesis(approximately two years)During this period participants undertake research which isbuilt upon the research proposal and pilot project conductedin the first part of the programme. The overall outcome isthe publication of a doctoral thesis, which is subject to anoral examination.
