hythmic dances, acrobatics and gymnasticswhich showed their acumen, balance, controland sychronisation. They started with acolourful rhythmic dance and made beautifulformations. One of the interesting events ofA spectacular show of skill and acumen was seenin the basketball game played by the students ofPrasanthi Nilayam.their display was a basketball game, in whichthe students dunked the ball in the basketafter getting elevation from a ramp and atrampoline. An innovative item of their displaywas acrobatics on chairs, with which they mademany beautiful formations. Another display ofacrobatics was on large rings suspended witha rope from a high stand. Next, they producedfi ne music by playing on Chinese drums alongwith balancing a fl ag with a long pole on chin,on a palm and an arm. As these acts of greatbalance were displayed, large kites in the shapeof various birds rose high up in the sky. Theirlast item was jeep stunts which included crisscrossing,smashing obstacles and passingthrough fi re ring. After their performance, all thestudents made a beautiful formation in front ofSanthi Vedika and offered their salutations toBhagavan. The morning programme came toa close with Arati to Bhagavan at about 12.00noon.The Splendour of Primary SchoolStudents’ PerformanceIn the afternoon, Bhagavan was led to HillView Stadium by motorbike escorts when Hecame to the stadium at 4.35 p.m. The sportsand cultural events began soon after this withthe presentation of the students of <strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Sathya</strong><strong>Sai</strong> Primary School, Prasanthi Nilayam. Thetheme of their presentation was the Advent ofBhagavan as <strong>Sathya</strong>m, Sivam, Sundaram forthe transformation of man. This was shown ona huge screen which formed the backdrop oftheir presentation. Their fi rst item was a vibrantdance by girls students which hailed the Adventof Bhagavan. What followed this was a numberof beautiful dances both by boys and girls inThe students of <strong>Sri</strong> <strong>Sathya</strong> <strong>Sai</strong> Primary School,Prasanthi Nilayam won the hearts of thespectators by their vibrant dances incolourful costumes.their colourful costumes which enraptured thespectators for nearly one hour. The beautifulformations they made in the performing areawere a treat to the eyes and a spectacle worthtreasuring in memory. One of their colourfuldances was a dance by girls with designs ofdifferent colour petals strapped to their back.The dances were interspersed with gymnasticfeats on a semi-circular structure and crawlingout of rubber tubes like a worm. But perhapstheir most spectacular performance was thelast item which was a dance by girls withcolourful umbrellas. As their magnifi centFebruary <strong>2010</strong> 53
