Clearing MemoryBefore you use your <strong>ER</strong>-<strong>900</strong> for the first time, you must perform a memory all clear to insurethat all totals and counters are cleared and that the default program is installed.CAUTION: The procedures described in this area are security sensitive. Clearing the<strong>ER</strong>-<strong>900</strong> memory after the register is put into service will erase all programming as wellas totals and counters. Do not share this information with unauthorized users anddistribute the special S<strong>ER</strong>VICE-Mode key only to those you may want to perform thesefunctions.Memory All Clear1. Turn the power switch located on the right side of the register to the OFF position.2. Turn the control lock to the S position.3. For Flat Keyboard Models (<strong>ER</strong>-920/<strong>ER</strong>-940):Press and hold the key position where the CHECK key is located on the defaultkeyboard layout.For Raised Keyboard Models (<strong>ER</strong>-925/<strong>ER</strong>-945):Press and hold the key position where the SUBTL key is located on the defaultkeyboard layout.4. Continue to hold the appropriate key while turning the power switch to the ONposition. The message “RAM ALL CLEAR" displays.5. Press the upper left key of the keyboard, then the lower left key, then the upper rightkey, and finally press the lower right key.1 32 46. After a short delay, the printer will print the message: "Please Wait…" displays.Memory is cleared, the default program is installed and the RAM CLEAR receipt isprinted.
