Keyboard LegendMODIFI<strong>ER</strong> (1-5)P/BALPAID OUT (1-3)DescriptionA modifier key alters the next PLU registered, either by changingthe code number of the PLU so that a different item is registered,or by adding the modifier descriptor (and not changing the codeof the subsequent PLU.)Use to enter the amount of an outstanding balance.Use to record money taken from the register to pay invoices, etc.The paid out amount subtracts from the cash-in-drawer total.Paid outs are allowed outside of a sale only.% 1 - % 5 Up to five % keys may be placed on the keyboard. Each % keyis set with a specific function, such as item discount or surcharge,or sale discount or surcharge. The percent rate may be entered orpreprogrammed, or the percent keys can be programmed with anegative open or preset price, thus acting as coupon keys.PLUPAYMENTPAY TEND<strong>ER</strong>PRINT CHECKPROMORECT FEEDRCPT ON/OFFRECD ACCT (1-3)The PLU key is used to register price lookups by number entry.PLUs can be programmed open or preset, and positive ornegative.Press to make a payment, partial payment, or pre-payment whileposting to a check (account). If the payment amount exceeds thecheck balance, a credit balance will be maintained. The systemoption for charge posting must be set to “Y” in order to use thisfunction.Functions like the Payment key, except if the payment amountexceeds the check balance, the overpayment will be issued aschange and the account balance will be zeroed. The check can be printed on anoptional (RS-232C) printer, or can be printed on the receiptprinter. Pressing this key will remove anitem's cost from the sale, but will include the sale of the item inthe item's sales counter.Advances the receipt paper one line, or continuously until thekey is released.When 'OFF' no receipt will print during a sale. (If the receipt isoff, a buffered receipt is available by pressing the CASH key asecond time.)The RA (received on account) key is used to record media loanedto the cash drawer, or payments received outside of a sale. Thecash drawer will open.
