Program 1000 - NLU Code Number ProgrammingKeyboard PLUs are fixed keys on the keyboard (like traditional department keys) that accessspecific PLUs. In the default program each Keyboard PLU will look up the appropriatenumeric PLU, beginning with PLU #1 for Keyboard PLU key #1 and continuing sequentiallythrough the keyboard.However, this numbering sequence may be impractical for some applications. For example,Keyboard PLU #1 may represent a can of Diet Pepsi. The merchant may wish to have theKeyboard PLU look up the UPC code number for Diet Pepsi, which is “120500”. Using thisprogram you can change the Number Look-Up (NLU) for the keyboard PLU to any 15-digitnumber you choose.On the <strong>ER</strong>-920 and <strong>ER</strong>-940 default keyboard, there are 100 keyboard PLU keys. The <strong>ER</strong>-925 and <strong>ER</strong>-945 come equipped with 21 Keyboard PLUs and may be expanded to up to 63Keyboard PLUs.Programming the NLU Code Number1. Turn the control lock to the PGM position.2. To begin the program, enter 1 0 0 0, press the SUBTL key.10 0 0 SUBTL3. Enter the new PLU code number you wish to use (up to 15 digits), and press thekeyboard PLU on the keyboard you wish to program. Press the same key again.PLU CodePLU KEYSAMEKEY4.
