Especially as the Stud had placed second everyyear since the Awards inception as a National award in2005 - an incredible feat in itself. In 2009 the trophy becamea state by state award. The breeders trophy was established in memory of thelate Lady Dinah Creswick who founded the Nattai Stud -one of the longest running and most prestigious WelshMountain pony studs.Points for the award are calculated from ponies bred bystuds, and shown at the relevant State All Welsh Show.In 2010 South Australia hosted the trophy at the 2010SA All Welsh Show.Rivington Stud took out the trophy as the most successbreeder at this event. It was exceptionally fitting that oftheir 16 ponies produced for the event, 7 of the WelshMountain ponies exhibited traced back to a Nattai pony."It was a huge honour to be awarded the prestigiousDinah Creswick Breeders Trophy at the 2011 SocietyAGM, said Sarah Barker from Rivington Stud."We're very proud to have won this trophy as Lady C,as she was know, was a very dear friend, said Sarah. "Ourfamily visited and stayed at her famous Nattai Stud manytimes over the years".Rivington Stud ponies bought from Nattai Stud includedthe impeccably bred stallions Nattai Vychan dec.(CoedCoch Bari x Nattai Moon Fairy) and Nattai Harri 11. WhileN Harri 11 was the show stallion (winning Supreme WM atevery outing) it was N Vychan (dec) who produced the topshow ponies and continues to have such a huge influencein the stud through his many descendants. As the winner, Rivington received a beautiful limitededition plate featuring the wonderful stallion, Coed CochProffwyd imp, who was much beloved by Lady Creswick. The award will return to SA for the 2016 SA All Welsh.Three generations of Rivington Stud, Penny Crompton (founder) centrewith daughter, Sarah Barker (far right) and her granddaughters FenellaBarker (far left) and Isabelle Barker.welshponyaustraliaEbay and FacebookThe society now has an e-Baystore for promotional product sales.http://stores.ebay.com.au/A Face book page has been established as anothermethod of communication to members. The page is a read only page that will act as anoticeboard.
