Bradshaw (Caulfield)My Tip: St Kevins by 5 goals.Semi Final 2 (1v2) Werribee vs St BernardsWerribee have been the team to beat all year, losingtheir first game for the season last weekend, The‘Tigers’ have torn teams apart this year with theirrun and spread. St Bernards on the other hand arethe more working class team, fighting out everycontest. They have just kept plugging away and withconfidence seemingly endless, they are a genuinecontender. They have faced off twice this season with bothteams tasting victory. The first game was back inround 6, Werribee being too strong at home winningby 16 points. In the second game, just last week, StBernards came from behind to record an eight pointwin. It is hard what to take from that game, with bothteams knowing they were to face each other a weeklater.Players to watch: Mikhal Secoulidis, Chris Molivasand Bol Kolang (Werribee)James Weir, David Wall andTODAYSelections in BOLDPREMIERSSEMI FINAL 2DE LA SALLE v OLD XAVERIANSSEMI FINAL 1ST BEDES/MT v BEAUMARISU19 SECTION 2SEMI FINAL 2WERRIBEE v ST BERNARDSSEMI FINAL 2ST KEVINS v CAULFIELD GRAMMARIANSU19 SECTION 3SEMI FINAL 2COLLEGIANS v OLD ESSENDONSEMI FINAL 2OLD TRINITY v MARCELLINU19 NORTHSEMI FINAL 2BANYULE v THERRY PENOLASEMI FINAL 2BULLEEN TEMPLESTOWE v LA TROBE UNIU19 SOUTHSEMI FINAL 2MAZENOD v OLD XAVERIANSSEMI FINAL 2ST MARY’S SALESIAN v MONASH BLUESJack Gay (St Bernards)My Tip: Werribee by 2 goalsNORTHFirstly, to the upset of theround - an inspired Whitefriars outfit ended theirseason on a high with a 20-point victory, endingIvanhoe’s season. The Friars led by 11 points at thefinal change, and it was the usuals – David Blewonski,Dominic Chambers and Michael Nitas who led thecharge. Ivanhoe was well served by Harry Robinson(four goals), but will be ruing the fact they aren’tplaying next week.Therry Penola had to knock off second-placed LaTrobe Uni at home, and that they did, recording acomprehensive 44-point win. The Lions booted fivegoals to two in the first term and never looked back,Matthew Jones and Hayden Rowe booting four eachfor the home side. Bart Thompson kicked three indefeat for La Trobe.A more-than-solid 10 goal effort from BulleenTemplestowe forward James Hodson allowed theBullants to cruise to a 20-goal win over St Leos. The Bullants booted no less than seven goals eachquarter, Adam Luaria chipping in with six handymajors. Leo Glover booted three for the Animals, whowere again well led by Alex Byers.SOUTHA look at the week ahead…Semi Final 1 (3v4) St Mary’s Salesian vsMonash BluesSt Mary’s and Monash have played each other twicethroughout the 2011 season with both teams havinga win. In round 7, Monash got over the line in a closecontest to win by 11 points. Monash were in fine format the time and were securely in the four. In their mostrecent clash, last weekend, St Mary’s Salesian showedhow much they’ve improved with a 53-point win.Players to watch: Tom Whittle, Stefan Gusts and SamMurphy (St Mary’s) Tom Ruddell, Benjamin Cailes andJake Cockburn (Monash)My Tip: St Mary’s by 7 goals.Semi Final 2 (1v2) Mazenod vs Old XaveriansMazenod look the team to catch this year, with OldXaverians their biggest threat.
