Old Westbourne, through the efforts of GaryWalker and Scott Kidd, nearly clenched theirsecond victory before being overrun by SouthMelbourne Districts after halftime. Scores wereall but locked at the major break before SouthMelbourne booted seven goals in the thirdquarter. The final quarter was a stale mate. TroyWhiting came to life with four goals, as did JohnFerguson. South’s Seb Mahoney had four, but theday will be remembered for Toby Parish’s threegoals in a dominant performance.FINALS: Glen Eira v St Johns. It’s hard to go passthe kings of the jungle, Glen Eira. They’re top for areason but their form is still questionable. The bigstage of finals can rock anyone’s boat, includingthe ladder leaders.
