We(Dad, David, and Myself) decided to split the top 27 does into 3 groups then number thegroups 1,2 & 3, each of us drew one number out of a hat. David kept the name Blue MountainWhitetails and I got 9 does and 2 doe fawns and made a new herd (Blue Mountain Acres). Dadsold his share. My share included X-Factor’s mom, Alpine’s mom and Sudden Impression’s mom.For the time being the two herds will be kept on one farm until I can put up a new breedingoperation.Also new in 2011 will be a preserve. We’re planning on building fence this winter andbeing operating by the fall of 2011. My goal as a breeder is to produce bucks like Alpine, solid6x6 main frame with long tines and a great look, which is why most of my does are bred toAlpine, plus I already have 3 Alpine daughters.Blue Mnt. Has very good disposition whichshe passes on to her fawns. Had triplets in 2010, all three fawns were in the top 5 on our farm for bodysize. Blue 14 is bred very similar to X-Factors mother. Her first son had lumpy jaw in spring of 2010, butstill scored 144” with a 6x6 main frame. Alpine scored 312” in velvet with a 235”, 6x7 mainframe. Orange0098 is the anchor doe to X-Factor, 509” @3, and Lone Survivor 285” @2We started WillPenn Whitetails nearly 5 years ago after months of farm visits, thorough research, and countless hourson the phone. Our farm is small, but what we lack in size we make up for in our intensive breeding program.
