Reports, Acts andBills cover<strong>in</strong>g major developments <strong>in</strong> healthcare like <strong>the</strong> Nurses Act December23rd 1919 that called for a register of tra<strong>in</strong>ed nurses to be drawn up. It formedpart of <strong>the</strong> drive to professionalise nurs<strong>in</strong>g work. Personal papers of nurses<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g notebooks, lecture notes, certificates, albums, casebooks, textbooks,diaries, letters and artworks from 1880s to <strong>the</strong> present Biographical material onnurs<strong>in</strong>g leaders, such as news cutt<strong>in</strong>gs, obituaries, photographs, publicationsand oral histories. Objects - small: An <strong>in</strong>ternational range of nurs<strong>in</strong>g andhospital badges, medals, awards and belt buckles dat<strong>in</strong>g from <strong>the</strong> laten<strong>in</strong>eteenth century up to <strong>the</strong> 1990s.Comics and magaz<strong>in</strong>es such as Blackie’s Girls’ Annual, Chatterbox, Boys’ OwnAnnual and Girls’ Own Annual. Edwardian boys’ adventure stories by G.A. Henty,Capta<strong>in</strong> F.S. Brereton, Manvell Fenn, Herbert Strang and Percy Westermanare complemented by stories for girls by Angela Brazil and L.T. Meade. Thecollection reflects attitudes to childhood through <strong>the</strong> stories and illustrations ofbooks and magaz<strong>in</strong>es aimed to both enterta<strong>in</strong> and <strong>in</strong>struct <strong>the</strong>m.Propaganda Important Works of art Philip Granville (1911-2003) No onl<strong>in</strong>e catalogue of posters but his collection spanned from 1890 to <strong>the</strong>present day.
