Thesurvey data shall be analysed to bring out the hourly and daily variations.The traffic volume count per day shall be averaged to show a weeklyAverage Daily Traffic (ADT) by vehicle type. The Annual Average DailyTraffic (AADT) shall be worked out by applying seasonal factors.4.7.2.3 The consultants shall compile the relevant traffic volume data fromsecondary sources also. The salient features of traffic volumecharacteristics shall be brought out and variations if any, from the trafficcensus carried out by the State MPRDC shall be suitably explained.4.7.3 Origin-Destination and Commodity Movements Surveys4.7.3.1 The Consultants shall carry out 1-day (24 hour, both directions) O-Dand Commodity Movement Surveys at locations finalised in consultationwith MPRDC. These will be essentially required around congested townsto delineate through traffic. The road side interviews shall be on randomsample basis and cover all four-wheeled vehicles. The locations of the O-D survey and Commodity Movement surveys shall normally be same as<strong>for</strong> the classified traffic count stations.4.7.3.2 The location of origin and destination zones shall be determined inrelation to each individual station and the possibility of traffic diversion tothe Project Road from/to other road routes including bypasses.4.7.3.3 The trip matrices shall be worked out <strong>for</strong> each vehicle typein<strong>for</strong>mation on weight <strong>for</strong> trucks should be summed up by commoditytype and the results tabulated, giving total weight and average weight pertruck <strong>for</strong> the various commodity types. The sample size <strong>for</strong> each vehicletype shall be indicated on the table and also in the graphicalrepresentations e.g. traffic band figures.4.7.3.4 The data derived from surveys shall also be analysed to bring out thelead and load characteristics and desire line diagrams. The data analysisshould also bring out the requirement <strong>for</strong> the widening of existing roads /construction of bypasses.ADB-IV33
