The rate of managerial<strong>and</strong> central staff was high in 1999, but due to the reconfiguration of the service, the rate isnow relatively low. There were just three social work vacancies in 2001. In March 2002 therewere no social worker vacancies, but the Council reported that fewer people were applying forvacant posts. Vacancies among social care staff are few.91
