A relatively high rate ofcommunity service orders was made in 2000-2001. The average length of community serviceorders was relatively high, as were the average number of hours completed per week.The Council is part of a criminal justice services grouping with East Renfrewshire <strong>and</strong> Inverclyde.An inter-authority best value review of services has been commissioned. The Council has itselfspeeded up the processing of social enquiry reports <strong>and</strong> has improved quality assurance byeffective supervision by senior social workers, supplemented by a 10% r<strong>and</strong>om samplingagainst a st<strong>and</strong>ard pro forma.Most records are manual <strong>and</strong> st<strong>and</strong>ardised forms are being introduced to facilitate individualcase management <strong>and</strong> to monitor the achievement of national st<strong>and</strong>ards. It is planned tointroduce Sheridan’s SWIFT system to provide strategic management <strong>and</strong> quality assuranceinformation.The Council manages the Pathways Project which is designed to engage in partnership allagencies involved with a particular offender, in order to promote public protection througheffective risk assessments. It supports the case management of offenders, both adults <strong>and</strong>young people, who have committed sex offences or displayed sexually aggressive behaviour.The Project provides a service to the three Councils involved in the Criminal Justice Grouping.213
