THE INTERIM CONSTITUTION OF NEPAL, 2063 (2007)AS AMENDED BY THE FIRST TO SIXTH AMENDMENTS163. Provisions regarding constitutional bodies and officials thereof(1) The constitutional bodies and officials thereof subsisting at the time of thecommencement of this Constitution, but which are not to be re-establishedunder this Constitution, shall cease to exist after the commencement of thisConstitution.(2) The constitutional bodies subsisting at the time of the commencement of thisConstitution shall be deemed to have been constituted under this Constitution,and this Constitution shall not hinder such bodies in dealing with mattersunder consideration according to the existing laws. Necessary legalarrangements shall be made to bring about gradual reform in the constitutionalbodies and the officials thereof, according to democratic norms and values.(3) The subsisting National Human Rights Commission constituted accordingto existing laws shall continue to exist until the constitution of a NationalHuman Rights Commission as provided for in this Constitution, and thepending petitions and complaints shall be transferred to the National HumanRights Commission constituted under this Constitution; and the Commissionshall take up such petitions and complaints in accordance with this Constitutionand the laws made under it.164. Existing laws to remain in operation(1) Decisions made and work performed by the reinstated House ofRepresentatives that are not inconsistent with this Constitution shall be deemedto have been made and performed in accordance with this Constitution.(2) All the laws in force at the time of commencement of this Constitution shallremain in operation until repealed or amended.Provided that laws inconsistent with this Constitution shall, to the extentof inconsistency, ipso facto, cease to operate three months after thecommencement of this Constitution.254
