EXPORTSAt present, electrical machinery <strong>and</strong> cable industry exports comprise 4.61% of totalexports. The total export value of electrical machinery was US $6.3 billion in 2012 <strong>and</strong> US$ 7 billion in 2013. Turkish-made electrical machinery is exported to over 200 countriesthroughout the world. In 2013, Iraq was the major buyer of Turkish electrical machinery.Other principal export markets of Turkish electrical machinery are U.K., Germany, France,Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Russia Federation, Azerbaijan, Algeria <strong>and</strong> Israel.The main export products are insulated wires <strong>and</strong> cables, electric transformers, domesticelectrical appliances, switching equipment, electric boards <strong>and</strong> panels, generating sets<strong>and</strong> electric accumulators. Among product groups, insulated wires <strong>and</strong> cables have thelargest share in the total exports of electrical machinery. The share of insulated wires <strong>and</strong>cables in the exports of electrical machinery is 35.8%. Producer <strong>and</strong> exporter firms in thecable sector are competitive in international markets with their capacity, technology,service <strong>and</strong> quality. In spite of intense competition in international markets, Turkish cableexports are expected to increase further.The other significant export product, electric instantaneous water heater, space heating;hair dryer account for 13.8% <strong>and</strong> electric transformers account for 13% of the total exportsof the sector.
