AppendixAlert Message Description End conditionINTERNALBATTERY LOWREMOTECOMPASS NOTDETECTEDOAT SENSORNOTDETECTEDTROUBLESHOOTING GUIDEYou will see this alert only whenoperating the unit solely off theinternal backup battery. When itsvoltage has dropped below a certainthreshold, you will see this alert.Additionally, the voltmeter will bedisplayed onscreen. When you seethis alert, it is advisable that you turnthe unit off by pressing the POWERbutton in Main Menu 1.The <strong>EFIS</strong>-<strong>D60</strong> is unable tocommunicate with the EDC-D10A.If you have an OAT connected toyour EDC-D10A, you will lose thisreading, as well.This alert appears when the <strong>EFIS</strong> hasan OAT connected and then losesthat connection for some reason.Either the EDC-D10A has becomedisconnected, or the OAT sensoritself has become disconnected fromthe EDC-D10A.The alert will disappear when youpress any button; however, it isadvised that you do not ignore thisalert, as it appears when the unit’sinternal battery has very little lifeleft. This alert will also go awayupon the application of either theexternal backup battery or MasterPower. At that point, the battery willbegin charging off the externalpower.Ensure that you a) have an EDC-D10A installed and b) have verifiedthat the wiring to the EDC-D10A iscorrect. Please see the <strong>EFIS</strong>-<strong>D60</strong><strong>Installation</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> for moreinformation on verifying theinstallation of the EDC-D10A.This error also can appear if youhave updated the firmware in your<strong>EFIS</strong>-<strong>D60</strong> while the remotecompass was not connected. If thisis the case, try uploading the newfirmware again with the EDC-D10Aconnected. Attempt the connectionwithin the first few seconds ofoperation.Note that the <strong>EFIS</strong>-<strong>D60</strong> does nothave internal magnetic sensors andthus requires the EDC-D10A beconnected.Double-check your wiring betweenthe <strong>EFIS</strong>-<strong>D60</strong> and the EDC-D10Aas well as that of the OAT sensor.The following table provides a list of potential issues that the <strong>EFIS</strong>-<strong>D60</strong> may experience. Thesymptom is given on the left side while the probable solution is listed at the right.
