Thedata stream is transmitted on multiple antennas so thereceiving system has a better chance of detecting at leastone of the data streams.Select one of the following options:• On. The access point transmits the same data streamon multiple antennas at the same time.• Off. The access point does not transmit the same dataon multiple antennas.ProtectionThe protection feature contains rules to guarantee that802.11 transmissions do not cause interference with legacystations or applications. By default, these protectionmechanisms are enabled (Auto). With protection enabled,protection mechanisms will be invoked if legacy devices arewithin range of the access point.You can disable (Off) these protection mechanisms; however,when protection is off, legacy clients or access points withinrange can be affected by 802.11n transmissions. Protectionis also available when the mode is 802.11b/g. It indicates whichclient stations, currently sleeping in low-power mode, havedata buffered on the access point and are awaiting pick-up.The DTIM period you specify indicates how often the clientsserved by this access point should check for buffered datastill on the access point awaiting pickup.The measurement is in beacons. For example, if you set thisfield to 1, clients will check for buffered data on the accesspoint at every beacon.
