4WirelessModifying Advanced SettingsTable 19FieldChannelAdvanced Settings Field DescriptionsDescriptionThe range of available channels is determined by the modeof the wireless radio interface and the country code setting. If you select Auto for the channel setting, and Auto channel isconfigured, the access point scans available channels, immediately selects a channel and begins operation. Ifinterference or errors occur on that channel, another channelis automatically selected. The channel defines the portion of the wireless radiospectrum the wireless radio uses for transmitting andreceiving. Each mode offers a number of channels, depending on how the spectrum is licensed by national andtransnational authorities such as the FederalCommunications Commission (FCC) or the InternationalTelecommunication Union (ITU-R).ChannelBandwidthThis field is available only if the wireless radio mode includes802.11n.The 802.11n specification allows a 40-MHz-wide channel inaddition to the legacy 20-MHz channel available with othermodes. The 40-MHz channel enables higher data rates butleaves fewer channels available for use by other 2.4 GHz and5 GHz devices.Select a value to set the use of the channel bandwidth. The default is 20-MHz.83 Cisco AP 541N Dual-band Single-radio Access Point Quick Start Guide
