Core Strategy for King’s Lynn and West Norfolk- Consultation 23 rd
February 2009 to 6 th April 2009.

I am writing to invite you to take part in the above consultation which will help
shape the Borough in the period to 2025. The Core Strategy is a key document in
the Local Development Framework. When completed it will contain an overall
vision, objectives and a spatial strategy for King’s Lynn and West Norfolk; it will
also contain policies against which planning applications will be considered. This
document gives draft policies and proposals based on the outputs from previous
consultations, evidence collected and having regard to the outputs from the
sustainability appraisal.
This stage is part of a wider consultation period (relating to Regulation 25 of the
Town & Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment)
Regulations 2008) which will culminate in a document to be submitted to the
Secretary of State for independent examination. Please find enclosed a copy of
the consultation document, together with a summary leaflet. There is a significant
amount of supporting evidence referred to throughout the document and this is
generally available via the Council web site www.west-norfolk.gov.uk and
following links to Planning and the Local Development Framework pages.
Consultees should bear in mind that the suggestions made in the document are
draft ideas, albeit based on evidence from previous consultations and studies.
