The Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk and the West Norfolk
Partnership are holding a series of workshops aimed at gathering views on the
way the borough develops over the next 20 years. They are running a joint
consultation on two major documents which together will form a blueprint for the
future of the borough.
The Borough Council is consulting on a series of discussion papers which will
inform the Local Development Framework for the whole borough. The Local
Development Framework will set out the borough’s planning strategy and
policies, covering issues such as flood risk, renewable energy, affordable
housing, development in the countryside and the regeneration of the borough.
You may remember that we have already carried out consultation work on the
Core Strategy at both the Issues and Options stage and the Preferred Options
stage of the LDF process. Following Government recommendations and the
production of additional documents for our evidence base, the Council decided to
take a step back. We want to look again at the issues for the borough and make
sure we have got these right.
The West Norfolk Partnership is consulting on the Sustainable Community
Strategy. A document which sets out overarching aims and objectives to enable
service providers to take a coherent approach to tackling the issues identified by
