Regulations
comments received were used to
inform the pre submission Core
Strategy.
The pre submission Core Strategy and
final sustainability appraisal report have
been published for six weeks in order
for representations (on the tests of
soundness) to be made.
At the end of the publication period, the
Core Strategy DPD, the sustainability
appraisal report and all representations
will be submitted, together with a
summary of the main issues raised
during the publication period, to the
Secretary of State in order for an
examination to begin into the
‘soundness’ of the DPD.
1.3 The Core Strategy has been prepared under the Town and Country
Planning (Local Development) (England) Regulations 2004 up to and
including the Preferred Options stage. In the summer of 2008, the
Government changed the process for preparing Local Development
Frameworks and so the Core Strategy has since been prepared under the
Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment)
Regulations 2009. Therefore the form and timing of the plan being
produced for the Publication and Submission stages in 2009/10 has been
different to that envisaged when the document was first being prepared.
1.4 The consultation has followed the methodology and techniques set out in
the Statement of Community Involvement which is available to view on our
website.
About the proposed submission consultation statement
1.5 This statement has been prepared in accordance with the Town and
Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment)
Regulations 2009 1 . It is split into six parts, reflecting the three
consultations carried out in relation to the Core Strategy:
