� Posters and Leaflets – distributed at events and posted out to Parish
Councils etc
� Posters were produced and on display at Council offices, libraries,
community and leisure facilities and town/parish council noticeboards.
What were the main issues raised at this stage?
5.8 Following consultation on the LDF Core Strategy held in Spring 2008,
below is a summary of all comments received in response to the
discussion papers. The discussion papers were written in line with the
themes in the Sustainable Community Strategy.
5.9 Aspiring and Skilled
Developing skills and raising aspirations across West Norfolk with
improved attainment, lifelong learning and local workforce skills.
Comments received-
� Support for improving skills and local knowledge base to create an
educated and trained workforce.
� The Council should adopt a pro active approach to retaining/supporting
and attracting new business
o Could we use financial incentives
o Recognise the importance of the Port and support development
o Increase the range of employers in the borough and as a result
the range of job opportunities
� Protect and improve cultural and leisure facilities available
� Provide a range of employment sites, ensure these are available for
employment uses
o Support for Hardwick Estate Extension
o Provide a range of sites (including sites for high quality office)
o Recognise the need to expand King’s Lynn’s economy
o Sites must be easily accessible
o There is a need for flexibility of land uses, can’t be too restrictive
(in line with PPS4)
� Support rural employment and diversification (including working from
home)
� Re use brownfield sites in rural areas for employment first before
allowing residential
� Support the rural exception sites for appropriate employment uses,
subject to meeting criteria
