5. Joint Consultation with the Sustainable Community Strategy -
‘Your views on your neighborhood’ (Re-visiting the issues for
the Borough) (2008)
Introduction
5.1 In the light of changes to Regulations, the increased emphasis of the need
for a joined up approach between the Core Strategy and the Sustainable
Community Strategy and comments made by Go-East in response to our
Core Strategy Preferred Options Paper the decision was taken to re visit
the Issues stage of the process.
5.2 Consultation on the Local Development Framework and Sustainable
Community Strategy entitled ‘Your views on your neighbourhood’ was
carried out between 1 st and 31 st March 2008. The consultation was based
around 5 discussion papers and these were centred around each of the
Sustainable Community Strategy themes:
� Cohesive & Equitable
� Aspiring & Skilled
� Attractive & Sustainable
� Competitive & Enterprising
� Accessible & Connected
5.3 The discussion papers pulled together the results of the consultation on
both the Issues & Options Paper and the Preferred Options Paper, and
also initial consultation carried out for the Sustainable Community
Strategy.
Who was invited to make comments?
5.4 Appendix 1 contains a list of those people and organisations consulted at
the Preferred Options stage. Broadly, this was all those who were
consulted and who commented at the Issues and Options stage. The
consultees can be grouped into the following respondent categories:

� Internal Council groups
� Parish and Town Councils
� Businesses
� Housebuilders, Landowners and Agents
� National, Regional and Local Government
� Statutory Bodies and Groups
� Local Stakeholder Organisations
� Schools and Youth Groups
