GOVERNANCE BOARD IN ACTIONBOARD VISIT TO BRAZIL: OCTOBER 2012Directors andexecutivesduring thecourse of thevisit to theMinas-RioProject inOctober 2012.BOARD IN ACTIONDirectors undertake regular visits tooperations and projects and, in 2012,operations and projects in Brazil andAlaska were visited.BOARD VISIT TO BRAZILIn October 2012 the Board met inBrazil. Directors took the opportunityto meet with the Governor of theState of Minas Gerais and otherstate politicians.Directors then visited the project,touring the beneficiation plant andthe pipeline as well as the localSENAI training centre funded byAnglo American.During the course of the visit, theBoard received detailed presentationsfrom the management of the Minas-Rio Project.NEDs’ fact finding tripsSome of the NEDs attended meetingsin Alaska with Anglo Americanemployees, the Alaskan governmentand local communities involved inthe Pebble Project. Some alsovisited the Niobium and Phosphateoperations in Brazil following theBoard meeting that was held there.COMMUNICATING WITHOUR INVESTORSThe Company maintains an activeengagement with its key financialaudiences, including institutionalshareholders and sell-side analysts,as well as potential shareholders.The Investor Relations departmentmanages the interaction with theseaudiences and regular presentationstake place at the time of interim andfinal results as well as during the restof the year.
