<strong>Investment</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>Italy</strong>5.4 EU directives, regulations and agreements relat<strong>in</strong>gto direct taxationThe follow<strong>in</strong>g EU provisions on direct taxation have been adopted by <strong>Italy</strong>.On 3 August 1985 the European Economic Interest Group<strong>in</strong>g - EEIG Regulation (No2137/1985) entered <strong>in</strong>to force.On 8 October 2004 the European Company Statute (Regulation No 2157/2002) entered <strong>in</strong>toforce. Directive 2001/86/EC, supplement<strong>in</strong>g the European Company Statute with regardto the <strong>in</strong>volvement of employees, was implemented by Legislative Decree no. 188 of 19August 2005. On 18 August 2006 the European Cooperative Society Statute (RegulationNo 1435/2003) entered <strong>in</strong>to force.
