Troubleshooting Proline Promass 839 Troubleshooting9.1 Troubleshooting instructionsAlways start troubleshooting with the following checklist if faults occur after commissioning orduring operation. The routine takes you directly to the cause of the problem and the appropriateremedial measures.Check the displayNo display visible and nooutput signals present.No display visible, butoutput signals are present.Display texts are in aforeign language.Measured value indicated,but no signal at the currentor pulse output1. Check the supply voltage Terminals 1, 22. Check device fuse ä 10085 to 260 V AC: 0.8 A slow-blow / 250 V20 to 55 V AC and 16 to 62 V DC: 2 A slow-blow / 250 V3. Measuring electronics defective order spare parts ä 951. Check whether the ribbon-cable connector of the display module is correctly pluggedinto the amplifier board ä 952. Display module defective order spare parts ä 953. Measuring electronics defective order spare parts ä 95Switch off power supply. Press and hold down both the P keys and switch on themeasuring device. Error messages consist of a variety oficons. The meanings of these icons are as follows (example):– Type of error: S = System error, P = Process error– Error message type: $ = Fault message, ! = Notice message– FLUID INHOM. = Error designation (e.g. fluid is not homogeneous)– 03:00:05 = Duration of error occurrence (in hours, minutes and seconds)– #702 = Error number" Caution!See the information ä 40▼Other error (without error message)Some other error hasoccurred.Diagnosis and rectification ä 93"Caution!!Note!9.2 System error messagesSerious system errors are always recognized by the instrument as "Fault message", and are shownas a lightning flash ($) on the display!In the event of a serious fault, a flowmeter might have to be returned to the manufacturer for repair. Important procedures must be carried out before you return a flowmeter to ä 101.Always enclose a duly completed "Declaration of contamination" form.
