Erosion hazard delineation shall beconducted at a minimum in conformance withState Standard for Watercourse System SedimentationBalance (State Standard 5-96)guidelines. Depending on the level of detailneeded, State Standard 5-96 presents three levelsof evaluation. Level I evaluation assumesthat the results of the evaluation will be moreconservative than results from a Level II or IIIevaluation. This assumption may be generallytrue, but may not be valid in areas of potentialchannel avulsion or lateral migration. Level IIand Level III evaluations are technically morerigorous and the results may or may not indicatereduced erosion hazard zones relative tothe results of a Level I evaluation.
