the North Peoria ADMP. Users of the NorthPeoria ADMP should consult with the appropriatejurisdiction concerning specific planningelements, design criteria, and standardsfor multiple-use recreational needs. Discussionconcerning opportunities and constraintsfor multiple-use recreation, identified as partof the North Peoria ADMP, is located in NorthPeoria ADMP, Technical Data Notebook,Attachment 5, Multi-Use OpportunitiesAssessment Report.Goal RR1 - Promote continuous trails and vistas ofscenic areas along accessible washes.Goal RR2 - Promote connectivity between possiblewash corridor trail systems and to development, area destinations, and other shared-use recreationalfacilities.Flood HazardsAccording to ARS 48-3609A and under theauthority outlined in ARS 48-3605A floodplaindelineations shall be conducted on allwatercourses with drainage areas more than¼ of a square mile or having a 100-year estimatedflow rate of more than 500 cfs. Floodplaindelineations shall be conducted inconformance with State Standard 2-96 guidelines, guidelines presented in MaricopaCounty Drainage Design Manual Volume II-Hydraulics and guidelines presented in theCity of Peoria Infrastructure DevelopmentGuidelines.Erosion HazardsGoal RR3 - Protect the integrity of washes whileproviding opportunities for recreation and theenjoyment of the natural environment and scenicareas.DESIGN GUIDELINESThe following design/planning guidelines arepresented to aid designers and planners intheir efforts. The guidelines are in part fromand in addition to guidelines and criteria presentedin Maricopa County Drainage DesignManual Volume II-Hydraulics, State Standardsdeveloped by the Arizona Departmentof Water Resources and the City of PeoriaInfrastructure Development Guidelines.8QQDPHG:DVK27([DPSOHRID6WUXFWXUDO%DQN3URWHFWLRQ0HDVXUH'HVLJQHGWR0LQLPL]H/DWHUDO&KDQQHO0LJUDWLRQIn addition to establishing 100-year floodplainlimits, erosion hazard zone delineations shallbe conducted on all watercourses with drainageareas more than ¼ of a square mile or havea 100-year estimated flow rate of more than500 cfs. Erosion hazard delineation shall beconducted at a minimum in conformance withState Standard for Watercourse System SedimentationBalance (State Standard 5-96)guidelines. Depending on the level of detailneeded, State Standard 5-96 presents three levelsof evaluation. Level I evaluation assumesthat the results of the evaluation will be moreconservative than results from a Level II or IIIevaluation. This assumption may be generallytrue, but may not be valid in areas of potentialchannel avulsion or lateral migration. Level IIand Level III evaluations are technically morerigorous and the results may or may not indicatereduced erosion hazard zones relative tothe results of a Level I evaluation.
