B1-02-05Agenda item 7.5 – Annex 3ANNEX 3: Cafcass Key Performance Indicators – Proposedchanges from 2010-11 to 2011-12Public LawKPI 1: Public law cases allocated (duty or substantive) at month endChange to focus on care cases, substantively allocated only. Cafcass has collected thesefigures since July 2009, so a previous year comparison can be retained. Retain target of 97%green and 90% amber. The rationale for this adjustment is that the small number of non-carepublic law cases makes it harder to identify the nature of performance in respect of carecases, which are the case type that is of greatest concern. Similarly, the mixing together ofduty allocations with fully allocated (i.e. appointed as children’s guardians) cases makes itharder to identify those cases that are fully allocated, which is the better measure of thefulfilment of Cafcass’ functions.KPI 6: Public law care cases allocated in 45 calendar daysRetain, but change the measure to be year to date. Retain target of 97% green and 90%amber. The effect of this is to measure performance across the course of the whole year, rather than only in the final month (i.e. March 2012).Private LawKPI 2: Private law cases allocated (duty or substantive) at month endNo changes. Retain target of 97% green and 90%amber. The effect of this is to measure performance across the course of the whole year, rather than only in the final month (i.e. March 2012).SafeguardingKPI 3: Safeguarding assessments rated satisfactory or higherRetain but adjust the targets to
