INTRODUCTION• The herpet<strong>of</strong>auna <strong>of</strong> Malaysia is stillpoorly known• Although the <strong>diversity</strong> <strong>of</strong> herpet<strong>of</strong>auna isincreasing, there are still many regionsth<strong>at</strong> have not been surveyed enoughespecially in the highl<strong>and</strong>s (Chan &Norhay<strong>at</strong>i 2009)• Diversity is unequally distributed acrossthe country• Other than new <strong>species</strong>, there are alsorare <strong>species</strong> bound to be found whensurveys are conducted (Chan & Norhay<strong>at</strong>i2009)
OBJECTIVETo determine <strong>rel<strong>at</strong>ive</strong> <strong>abundance</strong> <strong>and</strong><strong>species</strong> <strong>diversity</strong> <strong>of</strong> herpet<strong>of</strong>auna <strong>at</strong> ImbakCanyon, Sabah.To provide a <strong>species</strong> checklist <strong>of</strong> ImbakCanyon, Sabah.
SAMPLING METHOD AT THE SITE • Captured by ac:ve sampling based on visual <strong>and</strong> audio cues • Using h<strong>and</strong> <strong>and</strong> net by the opportunis:c search • Detec:on by the reflec:on <strong>of</strong> eyeshine <strong>and</strong>/or direct observa:on <strong>of</strong> the animal • All animals iden:fied <strong>and</strong> released within the site unless required for voucher specimens
