Ridley Student Center in honorof a 1952 graduate (<strong>Elizabeth</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>State</strong> Teacher'sCollege), Mrs. Mary Albritton Douglas. Mrs. Douglas isa native of North Carolina. ECSU Foundation anduniversity administrators recently unveiled the newnameplate, The Mary Albritton Douglas Auditorium, onthe second floor of the ‘Ridley Student Center. Inaddition to the bachelor of science earned here, Mrs.Douglas earned a Master of Arts and a professionaldiploma from Teachers College-Columbia <strong>University</strong>.Further studies were done at Bank Street College and the<strong>University</strong> of Puerto Rico. She was a student member ofAlpha Kappa Mu, Sigma Rho Sigma and later joinedSigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.
