<strong>Competition</strong> RULES <strong>Archery</strong> 2010-WUAC Shenzhen V2.0<strong>Competition</strong> <strong>Rules</strong>The archery competitions will be organised in accordance with the most recenttechnical regulations of the International <strong>Archery</strong> Federation (<strong>FITA</strong>) with itsparticulars to be described at the General Technical Meeting.This document has been created to help Organisers to understand the World<strong>Archery</strong> competition rules to be used in the WUAC since 2010. <strong>Rules</strong> and targetfaces to be used are here described.<strong>Rules</strong> to use in the WUAC 2010- ShenzhenEvent RECURVE COMPOUNDUniversityWorldChampionships –Shenzhen(Individual, Team &Mixed Team)70m Round followed by theOlympic Round (including sets<strong>for</strong> Individuals and theAcademic Round <strong>for</strong> teamsand mixed teams)50m Round followed bythe Compound Round withelimination and finals at50m Hit/Miss (sets, <strong>for</strong>Individuals, Teams andMixed Teams)RECURVE BOWINDIVIDUAL & TEAM & MIXED TEAM QUALIFICATIONRound:70m RoundDistance:70mArrows:72 arrows (2x36 arrows) ends of 6 arrowsTime per end: 4 min.Target Face: Regular 122cm target face, with scoring zone 10 to 1Scoring:Points 10 to 1, total of arrows’ scoresWinner:Ranked by total scores.Ties/ Shoot-off: Only in positions of cut (64), 1 arrow at 70m regular scoring. Ifstill tie, another arrow is shot counting the arrows scores. If stilltie, then a 3rd arrow closest to the centre.Based on the points of each archer, the top 64 individuals, the top 16 teams and thetop 16 mixed team from the Qualification Round advance to the Elimination Round(matches). The Elimination Round features the top athletes in a match-playtournament <strong>for</strong>mat (like tennis) in each of the 10 categories. The seededathletes/teams (example <strong>for</strong> individual: 1 v 64, 2 v 63, etc.) will shoot against eachother with the match winners moving onto the next round, until a champion isdetermined. The semifinal winners will shoot <strong>for</strong> gold and the others will shoot <strong>for</strong>bronze.Page 1

Ties give 1 set point.Winner:First archer to reach 4 set points.Ties/ Shoot-off: If after 3 sets, there is a tie, one arrow shoot-off, closes to thecentre will determine the last point to win the match.
