ALL YOU NEED FOR A WONDERFUL STAY 

SHUTTLE SERVICE 

We would be happy to collect you from your home or from train stations or airports in Stuttgart and Baden- 

Baden as well as Karlsruhe. Pick-up from the train station in Baiersbronn is free of charge. Our reservation 

and reception staff will gladly provide you with information about all further conditions. 

ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS 

Whether it’s the circus, arts and crafts, dancing or playing football – there’s always plenty to keep children 

busy at Traube Tonbach. The funny forest elves Rosso and Rosinchen and our nursery staff are on hand from 

10.00 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. and at weekends and on holidays until 10.00 p.m. with fun activities and ideas for 

children from 3 years old. You can find out what activities we have organised for our young guests on pages 

20 to 22. We are happy to arrange a babysitter for € 10 per hour from Monday to Friday and for € 15 an hour 

at the weekends. 

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE 

On the day of arrival, rooms are ready for you from 3.00 p.m. On the day of departure you may use the rooms 

until 12.00 p.m. 

BABY ITEMS 

We have the following items available for our smallest guests: cots, changing tables, nappy bins, bottle 

warmers, kettles, and baby monitors. 

CATERING AND EVENTS 

Whether for weddings, conferences or family celebrations – you can enjoy the culinary diversity, ambiance 

and gastronomic expertise of Traube Tonbach for your private or business events as well. Our banquet team 

will advise you in all important matters and provide competent support every step of the way, from creative 

planning ideas to ensuring that your event runs perfectly. Upon request, we can also arrange your event in 

high-quality Traube style at your home, in your office or at an attractive location of your choice. For special 

occasions, we can even prepare an exquisite dream dinner for your guests in your kitchen at home: imaginatively, 

professionally and in a style all our own. 

BICYCLES 

High-quality models for women, men and children are available free of charge in the hotel’s own bicycle 

garage with workshop: top-notch full-suspension bikes from the Freudenstadt-based manufacturer “solid 

bikes”, modern e-bikes and lightweight trekking bikes. On request you may also park your own bike here. 

The most wonderful cycling routes are just outside the door and can also be explored with our experienced 

trainer. You can also book guided biking tours with our events team.

GOLF 

We provide you with a green fee discount for the nearby 18-hole golf course in Freudenstadt. Golf weeks 

and the Traube Tonbach Golf Cup invite you to enjoy some exhilarating hours of golfing. Please read about 

our golf packages and special offers for golf on pages 23 to 26. Golf bags can be conveniently stored and 

cleaned in our newly designed golf bag garage. 

HOTEL PRICES 

Our room prices are per person and per night. The price includes the elaborate breakfast buffet, use of our 

spa, health & beauty area and the gym, as well as most of the entertainment offerings. Service charges and 

VAT at the standard rate are also included. In the case of a rise in VAT, we retain the right to adjust our prices 

accordingly. 

With the publication of the new price list, the previous version becomes invalid. This price list is subject to 

change. Traube Tonbach is not responsible for typographical errors. You can find our General Terms and

HOTEL BILL 

The hotel bill can be paid in cash or with an EC card. Our restaurants also accept credit cards (VISA, Eurocard, 

American Express, Diners). 

DOGS 

Dogs can only be accommodated by prior arrangement. We charge € 20 per dog per day. Dogs are also welcome 

in our Bauernstube restaurant. No animals are permitted in the main hotel or in any of the other restaurants. 

Thank you for understanding. We are happy to arrange a dog sitter for € 10 an hour from Monday 

to Friday and for € 15 an hour at the weekend. 

INTERNET 

All rooms have a high-speed broadband connection, which is included in the normal rates. 

JEWELLER 

Our jeweller Leicht has a wide range of exquisite items on offer. The Leicht family and their team are 

delighted to present you with fine creations made on location from select gemstones and pearls, as well as 

jewellery and watches from renowned manufacturers such as Fabergé, Chopard, Glashütte Original or 

Blancpain.

KIDS’ COURT 

The Traube Kids’ Court is a huge playroom for children and young adults featuring a mini-cinema, playstation, 

restaurant, kids’ cookery school, chill-out room, indoor football and 1,000 great ideas. Every day from 

12.30 p.m., we invite children to a free kids’ lunch together. The popular Dinner for Kids is at 6.00 p.m.

TENNIS COURTS 

Our beautiful outdoor courts are just a five-minute walk from the hotel. In the winter season, we will gladly 

reserve an indoor court for you at the Rainer Klumpp tennis centre in Baiersbronn. The indoor courts have 

joint-friendly velour carpeting.

TRAUBE LÄDLE 

In our exquisite, expanded “Traube Lädle” shop, you can find a large selection of German and international 

daily newspapers and magazines as well as enjoyable holiday reading materials, Black Forest and Traube 

specialities, living and cooking accessories from Lambert, Sia, Räder, All-Clad or Laguiole, and high-quality 

children’s fashion – for example from Käthe Kruse, River Woods and R 95. 

TRAUBE TONBACH WINE SHOP 

Our new, stylish wine shop offers an elegant selection of wines from mainly European production regions, 

which sommelier Stéphane Gass has selected exclusively for Traube. Every Saturday at 10.45 a.m., one of our 

sommeliers invites you to a wine-tasting with commentary. This costs € 15 per person for Traube guests and 

€ 20 for external visitors. 

BUSINESS HOURS: 

Wednesday to Sunday from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. and from 4.00 p.m. until 5.00 p.m. All wines from the 

Traube selections can be ordered for taking home. They will be promptly and properly shipped directly to 

your door. 

HEALTH & BEAUTY AREA 

Here, you can enjoy two indoor pools, an outdoor salt water pool, a whirlpool and a children’s pool. You can 

also choose between various saunas, a sanarium, steam room and ice igloo. The airy gym features state-ofthe-art 

Technogym equipment for your workout.

FLAVOUR AND VARIETY 

At Traube Tonbach, four first-class restaurants ensure culinary diversity and palette-pampering treats. You 

can dine elegantly, exclusively or heartily, depending on your mood. 

THE SCHWARZWALDSTUBE (BLACK FOREST RESTAURANT) 

Our French restaurant, which has three Michelin Stars and 19.5 points in the Gault Millau Guide, is run by 

head chef Harald Wohlfahrt and is among the best restaurants in Europe. It is open from Wednesday to 

Sunday and closed on Monday and Tuesday. The restaurant is closed from 9th January up to and including 

31st January 2012, and from 30th July to 23rd August 2012. 

THE KÖHLERSTUBE (KÖHLER RESTAURANT) 

Awarded 16 Gault Millau points, this restaurant pampers its guests with an elegant atmosphere and exquisite 

and creative cuisines from across the globe. Our head chef Henry Oskar Fried offers interesting tasting 

menus and a delicious à-la-carte selection. During the summer months, you can take a seat on the terrace at 

our original building and enjoy a special summer menu. 

THE BAUERNSTUBE (FARMHOUSE RESTAURANT) 

This is the meeting place for lovers of regional specialities such as “Linsen mit Spätzle” (lentils with noodles), 

“Maultaschen” (ravioli-style pasta) and “Flädlesupp” (soup with shredded pancake). These can be 

washed down with a glass of Baden or Württemberg wine or a freshly tapped draught beer. 

THE SILBERBERG (SILVER MOUNTAIN) 

In our elegant restaurant for hotel guests, kitchen director Jürgen Reidt offers changing menus and imaginative 

buffets. The restaurant serves a lively gala dinner every Saturday. The half-board option also includes 

interesting culinary theme events for you, for example our delicious wine-based menus – with wine descriptions 

from our sommelier. 

In the evening, guests dress to impress in the stylish atmosphere of our sophisticated restaurants.

HOTEL BAR 

In the pleasant atmosphere of our hotel bar, you can whet your appetite with an aperitif or round off the 

evening in the hotel hall with dancing, live music and cocktails from Head Bartender Bernhard Stöhr. 

BLOCKHÜTTE (LOG CABIN) 

The perfect spot for a typical Swabian snack or to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. Business hours:

ROOMS AND RESERVATIONS 

MAKING YOU FEEL AT HOME 

Traube Tonbach has a total of 153 rooms and suites. The large, comfortable rooms are furnished with highquality 

furniture and materials in high-class country house style and have spacious, elegant bathrooms. All 

rooms have a comfortable seating corner, TV, mini-bar, telephone and high-speed broadband connection. 

Bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer and safe are included in the standard furnishings in each of our rooms. 

RESERVATIONS 

Price differences depend on the various locations, size and furnishing of the rooms. 

From a booking of three nights, it is possible for us to confirm the room category, but not a particular room 

number or floor of the building. In the case of one person booking and occupying a double room, apartment 

or suite, we charge 70% of the respective room price. 

Rooms are available from 3.00 p.m. on the day of arrival. 

Rooms are available until 12.00 p.m. on the day of departure. 

VISITORS’ TAX 

The visitors’ tax for the community of Baiersbronn is charged separately. There is no charge for children or 

young people under 18. 

SHORT BREAKS 

We charge peak season prices the whole year round for short weekend breaks (Friday to Sunday). 

PARKING 

Single garages are available for € 6.50 and a car park for € 9 per day. 

CANCELLATIONS 

If you cancel a confirmed reservation at short notice (14 days or less before you are due to arrive), we are 

unfortunately forced to send out a cancellation bill (80 % of the contractually agreed price of accommodation 

and breakfast) unless we are able to rebook the room for the period in question. This also applies if you 

change your booking to a later date and subsequently cancel. Thank you for understanding. 

ROOM FOR THE DAY 

We charge 50% of the normal rate for rooms which are only used from 9.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.

TRAUBE HALF-BOARD 

If you stay two nights or more, we offer you our superior Traube half-board for € 25 per person per day. For 

one night’s accommodation we charge € 45 on weekdays and € 65 on Saturday. The varied and exquisite 

cuisine is served in our Silberberg restaurant and, for guests staying in Haus Kohlwald, in the Köhlerstube. 

ADDITIONAL BEDS 

Additional beds are available: for € 60 per person in the winter season or € 65 in the main season and € 75 

in peak season (overnight accommodation with breakfast). 

CHILDREN 

Children up to 6 years old can stay in their parents’ room free of charge. 

Children up to 12 years old can stay in their parents’ room for a price of € 30. 

Children up to 16 years old can stay in their parents’ room for € 40. 

Children in a separate room (type 25) pay € 100. 

Children from 3 years old are invited at lunchtime and in the evening to eat at the kids’ table as part of the 

childcare offering.

During their holidays especially, people like to have a lot of space to stretch out and relax. They seek the same level of comfort 

and familiar atmosphere that allows them to feel at home. We wanted to provide our more discerning guests and families with 

children with a friendly, inviting refuge which offers all of this and more. This is why we took a bold new direction in planning our 

new Haus Kohlwald. We transformed the former 41 rooms into 23 ultra-modern rooms. These spacious, bright abodes have gorgeous 

views of the surrounding nature and open up new perspectives of the Black Forest. The minimalistic yet elegant furnishings feature 

the finest materials, functional, convenient amenities and tasteful accessories. Several of these rooms have adjoining doors and 

can be combined. The large, luxurious bathrooms are another highlight, offering our guests their own personal wellness areas.

FOOTBALL CAMP 

The unique opportunity to play with the professionals. In our football school, we show young football enthusiasts 

the key elements of a good game. We visit a local sports facility and train under the supervision of a 

real coach Tuesday to Friday from 11.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. This gives kids the opportunity to improve their 

flexibility, technique and coordination. We also offer fun athletic activities in addition to the training units.

ADVENTURE DAY ON THE MURG 

Adventure Day is perfect for kids who love nature. The adventure begins with a morning walk through the 

fascinating Murg riverbed. Your journey will take you over rocks large and small, and those who dare can 

abseil from a 15-m high bridge. After a rejuvenating picnic lunch, the rafting begins. Equipped with paddle, 

lifejacket and helmet, we board our rafts and enjoy the wild kayak route. Our guides are always along for

ADVENTURE GOLF 

In the adventure golf park in Enzklösterle, people play mini-golf at another level – over wood chippings, a 

film of water, dry walls or through a rocky field. An excursion to the new mini-golf course in 

Klosterreichenbach is also an unforgettable experience. The courses are extra wide and feature incredible 

obstacles. Elements from the town’s history have been cleverly integrated into the course.

TAKING TO THE SKIES: ADVENTURE CLIMBING 

At the Mehliskopf and Hallwangen climbing gardens, the sky’s the limit! On courses with varying levels of difficulty, 

you can climb from tree to tree, fully equipped with harness, belt and helmet. On your way, you will climb, 

balance and glide through a fantastical world of ropes, beams, bridges and zip lines and experience nature from

With 12 European themed areas, over 100 attractions and daily live shows, people can enjoy unforgettable 

experiences at Germany’s largest leisure park. Like the spectacular Silverstar – Europe’s tallest roller coaster 

– or the wild water ride Poseidon. Visitors can explore the original training station of the “Mir” in the 

Russian theme area, and the arena has a haunted house, pirates and gladiators. Are you ready for one 

adventure after another? 

TO THE MAX: DOWNHILL CARTS AT MEHLISKOPF 

The latest thing for all those who like to feel the wind through their hair. Our strong “bull carts” use the force 

of gravity to speed down the 500-m long Mehliskopf race track on three wheels. The large, slightly inclined 

wheels guarantee good road control and prevent the cart from tipping over, ensuring a most pleasurable ride. 

People who want even more speed can try the Mehliskopf luge run. Zoom down the modern run safely buckled 

into a two-person toboggan. A truly breathtaking experience! Participants must be 14 years or older and at

IT’S TIME FOR ACTION: GO-KART RACING 

Even famous racers like Michael Schumacher started out small. It’s time for the kids to show what they can 

do at the go-kart track at Sulz am Neckar. Discover the hidden talents in your little racers and experience an 

action-packed day of driving. The sporty track is 380 m long and equipped with an electronic measuring system. 

POWERFUL: ARCHERY 

We will climb to the roof of Traube Court and start shooting. The art of archery is fun to learn and poses a 

thrilling challenge to people’s ability to focus and concentrate. You will learn how to aim at your target and 

hit the bull’s-eye with confidence, ease, power and consistency. We will practice these skills with professional 

trainers and, of course, with a proper sports bow.

the end, we put on a show for the Traube audience.

The Freudenstadt Golf Club (www.gcfreudenstadt.de) is one of the oldest and most picturesque clubs in 

Germany and is set in an enchanting location at an altitude of 700 m. Guests with club ID and a 54 handicap 

are entitled to play on the exciting 18-hole course. The green fee is € 50 during the week and € 60 at weekends 

and on public holidays. Traube guests are granted a € 10 reduction in the green fee. And for all those 

who want to improve their handicap or work on their license, we recommend the outstanding Peter Dworak 

Golfing School (www.golfschule-dworak.de). We would be happy to organise a golf buggy or a free set of 

women’s or men’s clubs for your game. We have a depot to store your own personal golfing equipment – and 

we can also clean your clubs in the evenings upon request. We are also happy to reserve a game for you and 

can help you book training sessions. Golf buggies are available at the Freudenstadt Golf Club. Please make 

reservations in advance. 

‘DOWN WITH THE SCORE’ WORKSHOP 

Anyone who wants to improve their game needs more than just a good swing. This is the ideal professional 

training for all handicap players who now wish to refine and focus their insight into the complex demands of 

golf. The workshop includes 12 or 16 full hours and can be individually booked and scheduled for groups of 

two or more. In addition to technique and the tactical use of putting and chipping, the course also highlights 

the critical mental moments: pre and post-shot routines, preparation for competitions, game tactics and course 

management. Special situations such as slopes, extraordinary locations and fairway bunkers are intensively 

trained and optimised on the course. And in order to have visible documentation of results, each player calculates 

their own personal flight range table using a laser range finder.

“Play golf – have fun!” We now offer beginners’ courses for our Traube Kids with junior golf pro Paul. You 

can learn and practice your swing, putts, chips, pitches and drives for two hours at Freundenstadt golf

FINALLY! INTENSIVE COURSE BIRDIE 1 

For anyone who would like to finally take the license required to play on golf courses home after the holidays. 

With the friendly and competent guidance of the Freudenstadt PGA professionals led by head pro 

Peter Dworak, you will learn, reinforce and practise the most important basic techniques such as putting, 

chipping, pitching or shooting out of bunkers. You will study the rules and regulations, both theory and 

practice. At the end of the course, you will be tested with an exam on the rules and with a round of golf 

that will determine whether or not you are able to play German courses according to the DGV (German Golf 

Association) Guidelines.

CRAZY ABOUT FASCHING (CARNIVAL) 

Let the sparks fly with us. The Black Forest Carnival (Fasnet) is legendary – the party starts on “Dirty Thursday” 

(Schmutziger Donnerstag) and keeps on going until Ash Wednesday. The witches dance, there is a crazy buffet, 

a fantastic “Schudi” evening at the Blockhütte, and a trip to see the Alemannic carnival procession through 

Freudenstadt. The “Hexaheuler” thrill the crowds with typical “Guggen” music on Sunday. The unforgettable highlight 

of the wild party is Rose Monday, when we even celebrate carnival like crazy in the Silberberg restaurant. 

At the huge Rose Monday Ball with the Peter Thiebes Live Band, we present a prize to the person with the best 

costume, so don’t forget your fancy dress outfit when you pack your suitcase. The hotel motto will be announced 

on 20th January. We look forward to some crazy costumes!

We bring Thailand to the Black Forest for pure summertime enjoyment. Our colleagues from the legendary 

Banyan Tree Hotel in Bangkok are coming to stay at the Traube for the fifth time, and they are bringing the 

magic of their home country with them. The chefs pamper you with fine Asian food and delicacies from the 

Far East. We serve this on the terrace in the evenings or as a light lunch in the afternoons. At the Spa & 

Resort, you can also enjoy wonderful Thai massages at the hands of our guest masseurs. And our cookery 

school offers Thai cooking courses and teaches you the secrets and spices of Asian cuisine.

We join in celebrating with our guests from Luxembourg, France and Switzerland and have made their 

national holidays into a real highlight at Traube. The entire week is filled with ideas, specialities and activities, 

picnic hikes and birthday cakes typical for the respective country. The crowning glory of each of these 

weeks is the respective national holiday, when we invite all our guests and friends from the neighbouring 

countries to our wonderful evening gala dinner with wine pairings, music and fireworks.

CROCUS HOLIDAYS: ESPECIALLY FOR OUR DUTCH GUESTS

HERE AND NOW! DETOX YOGA WITH SABINE BROGHAMMER 

A week of yoga to detoxify, purify and rejuvenate the body, mind and soul. The exercises stretch and relax 

the body, strengthen the internal organs and create a feeling of inner bliss. Sabine Broghammer lovingly 

combines a variety of different yoga disciplines and finishes each course with guided meditation. Every day 

at 8.30 a.m. we ring in the morning with yoga. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday, we practice Kundalini 

yoga to activate the metabolism. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday are devoted to Tibetan heart yoga, and on 

Wednesday evening, we will enjoy an enchanting light meditation. Every day is completed with relaxation 

yoga at 5.15 p.m. Sabine Broghammer is a qualified Hatha yoga, Kriya yoga, Aranja yoga and meditation 

trainer. She attaches great importance to attentiveness and believes: “Every student should be encouraged,

FROM KARLSRUHE Leave the A5 at the Rastatt Nord exit. Follow the signs for the B462 towards Freudenstadt: 

pass through Gernsbach, Schwarzenberg, Huzenbach, Klosterreichenbach. At the entrance to Baiersbronn, 

turn right towards Tonbach. 

FROM BASEL Leave the A5 at the Achern exit. Drive through Kappelrodeck and Seebach towards Ruhestein
