2Interface module diagnosticsFor more information, refer to the <strong>Brocade</strong> <strong>MLX</strong> <strong>Series</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>NetIron</strong> Family Configuration <strong>Guide</strong>.Management module LEDsManagement modules contain six LEDs that indicate operational status. Once you have installed amanagement module <strong>and</strong> powered on the system, you can read the LED indicators on the modulefaceplate. Table 3 lists these LEDs <strong>and</strong> describes what to do if an LED shows that the module is notoperating properly.TABLE 3Management module LED indicatorsLED Position State MeaningSlot 1<strong>and</strong>Slot 2Adjacent to thePCMCIA slot itrepresentsOn or blinkingOffThe software is currently accessing the flash card.The software is not accessing a PCMCIA flash cardinserted in a slot. If this occurs, you must:• Make sure the flash card is fully seated in theconnector.• From a comm<strong>and</strong> prompt, type dir/slot1 or dir/slot 2to see if either slot is readable.Active Lower left On The module is functioning as the active managementmodule.OffThe module is functioning as the st<strong>and</strong>by managementmodule.Pwr Upper left On The module is receiving power.10/100/1000Ethernet port10/100/1000Ethernet PortAbove <strong>and</strong> to rightof RJ-45connectorAbove <strong>and</strong> to leftof RJ-45connectorOffOn (green)OffOn or blinking(yellow)Off forextendedperiodThe module is not receiving power. If this occurs, you must:• Make sure the module is seated properly.• Make sure the power supply is operating properly. ThePower LED must be green.• Try the module in another slot or chassis.A link is established with the remote port.No link is established with the remote port. If this occurs,you must use a straight-through cable to the switch toverify that interface management is enabled <strong>and</strong> the link isgood.The port is transmitting <strong>and</strong> receiving packets.The port is not transmitting or receiving packets.
