SNMP 9sFlow debug commandsThere are no debug commands specific to sFlow.Configuration notes• Before you enable sFlow, make sure the device has an IP address that sFlow can use as itssource address.• It is recommended that you do not change the denominator to a value lower than the default.Sampling requires CPU resources. Using a low denominator for the sampling rate can causehigh CPU utilization.• sFlow uses CPU resources to send sFlow samples to the collector. If you set a low samplingvalue on a high rate interface (for example, 10 GE), the interface module CPU utilization canbecome high.• If you change the router ID or other IP address value that sFlow uses for its agent address, youmust disable and then re-enable sFlow to cause the feature to use the new source address.• Sample data is collected from inbound traffic on ports enabled for sFlow. However, both trafficdirections are counted for byte and packet counter statistics sent to the collector.• Port mirroring and sFlow cannot be enabled simultaneously on the same port.SNMPThe Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) forms part of the Internet Protocol (IP) suite asdefined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). SNMP is used in network managementsystems to monitor network-attached devices administration and management.SNMP is disabled by default on Brocade devices. SNMP must be enabled in order to manage aBrocade device using Brocade Network Advisor.SNMP show commandsThis section describes the show commands that display SNMP information.show snmp serverSyntax: show snmp serverThis command displays both the read-only and read-write community strings.NOTEIf display of the strings is encrypted, the strings are not displayed. Encryption is enabled by default. To display the SNMP community string, enter the following commands.Brocade(config)# enable password-displayBrocade(config)# show snmp serverThe enable password-display command allows the community string to be displayed, but only in theoutput of the show snmp server command. Display of the string is still encrypted in the startupconfiguration file and running configuration file.
