5OSPFBGP memory considerationsBGP4 handles a very large number of routes and therefore requires a substantial amount ofmemory. For example, in a typical configuration with a single BGP4 neighbor, a BGP4 router mayneed to manage as many as 250,000 routes. Many configurations, especially those involving morethan one neighbor may require the router to retain even more routes. The Brocade devices providedynamic memory allocation for BGP4 data, automatically allocating memory when needed tosupport BGP4 neighbors, routes, and route attribute entries. Dynamic memory allocation isperformed automatically by the software and does not require a reload.Common diagnostic scenariosMD5 Authentication is incorrect between two BGP peers when a BGP session remains connected.Because MD5 authentication occurs at the TCP layer, the debug ip bgp command will not help inthis situation.
