The spiritual means to be in touchwith some larger, deeper, richer whole that puts our present limitedsituation into a new perspective. It is to have a sense of ‘somethingbeyond’ of ‘something more’ that confers added meaning and valueon where we are now. Spiritual inspirations are considered as arare blessing and it is believed that through the path of spiritualisma man attains perfection, immortality and ultimate fulfillment. Itcarries different meaning from one part of the globe to the otherpart. But every one seems to agree that the spiritual aspect of one’slife is intimately related to the mental processes i.e. mind : andaffects the psychic functions of an individual. It is identified withsomething super conscious, supernatural and towards divinity.Spirituality is the basic feeling of being connected with one’scomplete self, others and the entire universe.Health is a state of Physical, Mental, Social and Spiritual wellbeing and not just the absence of disease or infirmity, Health isperceived as a multidimensional process involving the well-beingof the whole person in the context of the environment, Religiousinvolvement and spirituality are associated with better healthoutcomes, including greater longevity, coping skills and healthrelated quality of life and less anxiety.Spirituality :One of the most profound new insights of twentieth century science is thatwholes can be greater than the sum of their parts. The whole contains a richness,a perspective, a dimensionality not possessed by the parts. Here science helpsus to understand the spiritual. The ‘Spiritual’ means to be in touch with somelarger, deeper, richer whole that puts our present limited situation into a newperspective. It is to have a sense of ‘something beyond’ or ‘ something more’that confers added meaning and value on where we are now.
