ALBERTA GAMING AND LIQUOR COMMISSIONThe <strong>Alberta</strong> Gam<strong>in</strong>g and Liquor Commission (AGLC) operates under <strong>the</strong> authority of <strong>the</strong> Gam<strong>in</strong>g and LiquorAct. Its structure <strong>in</strong>cludes a seven-member board that is appo<strong>in</strong>ted by <strong>the</strong> government and reports directly to<strong>the</strong> Solicitor General and M<strong>in</strong>ister of Public Security. The Board approves gam<strong>in</strong>g and liquor policy to ensure<strong>Alberta</strong>’s gam<strong>in</strong>g and liquor <strong>in</strong>dustries are well regulated and managed on behalf of <strong>the</strong> people of <strong>the</strong>prov<strong>in</strong>ce. Board members also conduct hear<strong>in</strong>gs and make decisions respect<strong>in</strong>g licenses and registrations,and are responsible for any o<strong>the</strong>r functions assigned to it.The AGLC’s structure also <strong>in</strong>cludes management that directs <strong>the</strong> ongo<strong>in</strong>g operations of <strong>the</strong> organization. TheChief Executive Officer of <strong>the</strong> Commission’s management reports to <strong>the</strong> Board.The core bus<strong>in</strong>esses of <strong>the</strong> AGLC are to: license and regulate liquor activities, license and regulate charitable gam<strong>in</strong>g activities, and conduct and manage prov<strong>in</strong>cial gam<strong>in</strong>g activities.The AGLC’s role – through its Board and management – is to adm<strong>in</strong>ister <strong>the</strong> Gam<strong>in</strong>g and Liquor Act andrelated legislation.Primary Procurement: electronic components; janitorial supplies; computer equipment and relatedsupplies; furniture; office mach<strong>in</strong>es; packag<strong>in</strong>g supplies; tools; communications equipment and supplies;co<strong>in</strong> handl<strong>in</strong>g equipment and supplies; video lottery term<strong>in</strong>al and gam<strong>in</strong>g term<strong>in</strong>al parts; courier services;armored car services; janitorial services; and, office supplies.
