ENERGYEnergy is <strong>the</strong> eng<strong>in</strong>e of <strong>Alberta</strong>’s economy. <strong>Alberta</strong>ns own <strong>the</strong> oil, natural gas and o<strong>the</strong>r m<strong>in</strong>eral resources.The energy <strong>in</strong>dustry accounts for approximately one-third of all <strong>Alberta</strong> government revenue, ensur<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong>ongo<strong>in</strong>g delivery of critical public programs, such as health, education and <strong>in</strong>frastructure. Energy alsoaccounts for just over half of <strong>the</strong> value of <strong>the</strong> prov<strong>in</strong>ce’s total exports and about one-quarter of <strong>the</strong>prov<strong>in</strong>ce’s Gross Domestic Product. ALBERTA GAMING AND LIQUOR COMMISSIONThe <strong>Alberta</strong> Gam<strong>in</strong>g and Liquor Commission (AGLC) operates under <strong>the</strong> authority of <strong>the</strong> Gam<strong>in</strong>g and LiquorAct. Its structure <strong>in</strong>cludes a seven-member board that is appo<strong>in</strong>ted by <strong>the</strong> government and reports directly to<strong>the</strong> Solicitor General and M<strong>in</strong>ister of Public Security.
