-62-BG 3 Map Unit (Orthic Regosols )This map unit is characterized by those soils, with little horizon developmen tand containing 20 to 50% coarse fragments, which occur on colluvium . The depth tobedrock is generally greater than 50 cm, but is often less than 200 cm . Snow avalanchingis sometimes associated with parts of the BG 3 map unit and is shown on th emaps as BG 3 +A where the avalanching occurs on less than about 25% of the mapunit and is restricted to well defined chutes, or as BG 3A where avalanching occur son greater than 25% of the map unit . A well developednon-turfy, dark colored Ah horizon is found on these soils .
