REMEMBER THE OFFICE IS OPEN 24 HOURS A DAY, 7DAYS A WEEK.Keys — A resident may check out the lockout key for their room from the KeysComplex Desk but must return it within 30 minutes. If the key is not returnedwithin the 30-minute period, you will be charged for a lock change. Please notethat residents who abuse the lockout key policy are subject to disciplinaryaction. There will be a Lock-out charge for anyone who has to check out keysmore than four times a semester For residents staying over the summer, therewill be a lock-out charge for anyone who has to check out keys more than twotimes during the Summer C Session.• LOST KEY CHARGES Room Key - $72.00, Commons Key -$25.00, Lockouts - $8.00 (after 4 th lockout during semester; after2 nd lockout during summer). In addition to the key charge, there willbe a $2.00 administration fee.Room Condition Forms — This form is an inventory and record of thecondition of your room at the time you moved in. It is very important that youreview and complete this form in detail and return it to your RA. This informationis used to assess damage charges when you check out and it is in your bestinterest to be sure that the form really reflects the current condition of yourroom. If different, you have 24 hours to let your RA know.Room Switches/Transfers — Under NO circumstances may students changerooms without prior approval from the Area Office. In most cases a room switchis possible but failing to follow proper procedure will result in disciplinary action.Bulletin Boards — As you walk through the Area each day, take a look at thelarge bulletin boards placed throughout the buildings. Some of these boards arelabeled “Administrative Notice Only” and are only for use by Housing Staff.Other boards are “Public Notice” boards and may be used by anyone. However,Housing is responsible for the upkeep of the “Public Notice” boards and mayremove all items on them periodically if they become unsightly or if the materialis out-of-date. ADDITIONALLY, PUBLIC NOTICES NOT ATTACHED TO THEBULLETIN BOARDS WILL BE REMOVED. Repeat offenders are subject todisciplinary action.Keys Complex Library — The Keys Complex Library is located in thecommons. It is a quiet and convenient place for area residents to study. Atcertain times (to be posted), there is a student librarian on duty who can assistyou with books in the glass cases. However, the library itself is open 24 hours aday. You will need your entrance key to the commons where the library islocated.
Televisions & Study Lounges — The commons is equipped with a colortelevision. This TV may be used 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but pleasebe considerate of others who may be in the commons.Cable TV — TV cables and connectors for older TVs are available for check outat the Keys Complex Office Desk. You are responsible for these items afterchecking them out and you must return them to the Area Office desk along withyour keys at the time you move from your residence hall.Change Machines — There is a change machine located in the Keys Complexcommons by the office.Vending Refunds — These are available at the Keys Complex Desk between8:00 am and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. You must see the clerk on dutyduring the day for this service. In the event that you “lose” money in a machineduring a different time period, come down to the desk when the clerk is on duty.Be sure to remember which machine was involved and any other importantinformation such as the code or serial number on the machine.Ice Machine — The ice machine is located in the vending area in thecommons.Laundry Room — There is one located in the commons. Both washers anddryers cost $0.75.Bicycle Parking — Park and lock your bicycles to the bike racks in thedesignated areas. There will be no chaining bikes to handrails or to any objectother than the bike racks. DO NOT leave bikes in the breezeway. If bikes arelocked to anything other than bike racks they will be confiscated.Motor Scooter Parking – Properly park your motor scooters in the designatedareas. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY REIDENTS DRIVE THEIRSCOOTERS ON THE SIDEWALKS! Residents who violate this policy will besubject to University Judicial and monetary fines by University Police. Motorscooters not properly parked in designated areas will be towed at the owner’sexpense.RA on-call — There is a RA on-call every Monday through Friday 5:00pm to8:00am, and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. If you need a RA and cannotlocate one, call or visit the Keys Complex Office at 392-8107 to inquire aboutseeking the assistance of the RA on-call.Housing Security — If you need security assistance or simply want to reportsomething suspicious, you may call Housing Security at 392-2495. There is atrained student with a two-way radio that patrols the Keys Complex and assistswith the safety and security of the residents at night. This service is available
