Thissystem is a complete preparationpackage for cross-sectioning printedwiring board plated through holes,which incorporates the EcoMet ®300 and AutoMet ® 300 grinderpolisherwith two different precisionaccessories.The NelsonZimmer ® 2000 featuresa PC Met ® Precision High VolumePrinted Wiring Board Accessory withreproductible accuracy for crosssectioningof through holes downto 0.008” (200µm) in diameter. Thisfixture will prepare up to 36 couponsat one time, 1” (25.4mm) longin 6 separate cavaties. Six stops,three for grinding and three for polishing,eliminate undercutting whichensures viewing of the through holecenter line.For cross-sectioning microviathrough holes down to 0.004”(100µm) in diameter, Buehler offersthe NelsonZimmer ® 3000 Systemwhich includes the EcoMet ® 300and AutoMet ® 300 grinder-polisherwith a PWB Met Small Hole Accessory.This accessory will prepareup to 18 coupons at one time, 1”(25.4mm) long in 6 cavities. Eachcoupon is pinned separately eliminatingany stress caused by pins andproper alignment is ensured forcross-sectioing microvia throughholes. Six polycrystalline diamondstops prevent grinding or polishingbeyond the target plane.Both NelsonZimmer ® Systems offerhigh volume preparation whilemaintaining accuracy requiredfor targeting the center line of athrough hole. Calibration is maintainedwith a dial indicator. Eachsystem comes with the appropriatepin loader and pins. Mountedcoupons can be viewed at any timewithout effecting its alignment.The PWB Met ® Sample Extractoris included for removing polishedmounts from the PWB Met ® SmallHole Accessory without inducingscratches to your finished sample.Adding one or more PriMet ® ModularDispensing Satellites increasesyour productivity, provides sampleconsistency, and maximizes consumableusage.
