FLAMES COMMUNITY RELATIONSAlberta Children’s Hospital Christmas VisitEach season the Calgary Flames players make a special visit to the Alberta Children’sHospital to wish them a happy holiday and give them a special toy. The playerstake the time to visit patients one-on-one in their rooms and to make crafts withthe children.Pond Hockey by ENMAXThis year will be the 11th season that the Calgary Flames will team up with ENMAXand Calgary Hockey Development to match minor hockey players with their NHLheroes. Evenings of Pond Hockey by ENMAX take place on outdoor community rinks inJanuary and February with Flames players and members of Calgary minor hockey.Flames and NHLOA Zebras CareThe National Hockey League Officials Association (NHLOA) in partnership with theCalgary Flames and KidSport Calgary began their first year of the Flames Zebras CareProgram last season. The Flames provide the opportunity for young athletes, selectedby KidSport Calgary, to watch a Flames game and meet NHL officials before puckdrop. Officials take the time to answer questions and make sure they don’t leaveempty handed!Calgary Flames Better Halves Community IncentivesThe Calgary Flames players’ wives and girlfriends have also embraced the team’scommitment to the community by initiating new events and programs and participatingin annual fundraisers each season.Flames Better Halves Ultimate Ladies Night OutThis second annual ladies event hosted by the Flames Better Halves raised over $80thousand for the Flames Foundation for Life. The sold out evening attended by over600 people, included celebrity fashion show featuring the Better Halves and basketsfull of “A Few of Our Favourite Things” from the Better Halves and their families. Thisyears event will be held on March 18, 2010.Coca-Cola and Flames OrnamentsEach season the Better Halves sell limited edition Coca-Cola Flames Christmasornaments in support of the Flames Foundation for Life. The ornaments are sold onthe concourse and last season raised over $20 thousand for the Flames Foundation forLife. The ladies will be on the concourse on December 9th and 11th, 2010.Good Earth and Flames Autographed PucksDuring the first round of the playoffs the Calgary Flames Better Halves take to theconcourse to sell Good Earth/Calgary Flames autographed pucks.
