<strong>CALGARY</strong> <strong>FLAMES</strong> OWNERSAllan P.MARKINAllan P. Markin, a native of Calgary, is the Chairman of CanadianNatural Resources Limited, a natural gas crude oil exploration,development and production <strong>com</strong>pany. The Canadian Natural missionstatement is “to develop people to work together to create value forthe <strong>com</strong>pany’s shareholders, by doing it right, with fun and integrity”.Allan has strongly supported Canadian Natural’s corporate<strong>com</strong>mitment to a wellness system for employees. This progressivesystem demonstrates Canadian Natural’s <strong>com</strong>mitment to wellnessand health and is in keeping with “doing it right”. He is a 1968graduate of the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of ScienceDegree in Chemical Engineering. Mr. Markin has received honorarydegrees of Doctorate of Laws from the University of Calgary, theUniversity of Alberta and the University of Lethbridge.He became owner of the Flames in 1994. The Mayor of the City ofCalgary bestowed him with the Citizen of the Year award for 2004.St. Mary’s University College awarded him with the HonoraryFellowship of St. Mary’s in 2004. Allan is a Founder of St. Mary’sUniversity College. In July 2008, Mr. Markin was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada by theGovernor General. He received The Alberta Order of Excellence in October 2008. In the fall of <strong>2009</strong>, hewill be inducted into the Calgary Business Hall of Fame. Although diversified, his main philanthropicobjective is to enhance education and health.Jeffrey J.McCAIGJeffrey James McCaig is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of theTrimac Transportation group of <strong>com</strong>panies. Mr. McCaig has been withTrimac since August 1983. He became President in May 1990 andChief Executive Officer in July 1994. Prior to joining Trimac in 1983,Mr. McCaig practiced law in Calgary, from 1976 to 1983.In addition to being chairman of the board of Trimac and itsrelated <strong>com</strong>panies, he also is a director of Potash Corporation ofSaskatchewan and Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada.He has a Master of Science in Management degree from the SloanProgram, Stanford University, Stanford, California (1984), and alaw degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto (1976). Hegraduated Cum Laude in Economics from Harvard College inCambridge, Massachusetts (1974).Mr. McCaig was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan on July 5, 1951.He is married and has three children.Clayton H.RIDDELLClayton H. Riddell was introduced as a new member of the CalgaryFlames ownership group on August 29, 2003. His participation,<strong>com</strong>bined with the ongoing <strong>com</strong>mitment of the existing owners of theteam and the <strong>com</strong>munity, provides strength, continuity and stability tothe organization.Mr. Riddell graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelorof Science, Honors degree in Geology. In May 2004, he received anHonorary Doctor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba.Mr. Riddell has been the Chairman of the Board and Chief ExecutiveOfficer of Paramount Resources Ltd., a publicly traded oil and gas<strong>com</strong>pany since 1978. He is Chief Executive Officer of MGM EnergyCorp. and is Chairman of the Board of Paramount Energy Trust andTrilogy Energy Trust.Mr. Riddell is past president of the Canadian Society of PetroleumGeologists and past Chair of the Canadian Association of PetroleumProducers.
