SETTING-UP ADVICEUsing the NXAMP4x1 without a rackFusesIf you do not put the NXAMP4x1 into a rack, then it is mandatory to use the four rubberpads enclosed into the amplifier carton box. These auto adhesive pads should be stuck oneach corner of the bottom of the amplifier. Without these rubber pads, some internalcomponents can be damaged when there is a shock (for example dropping the amplifier ona table). The three fuses (one per power supply) provided in the unit will not blow duringnormal operation. If one of the fuses blows it means that the Powered TDcontroller hasmalfunctioned. This fuse must only be changed by NEXO certified service personnel. In anycase do not replace the fuse with a non-certified NEXO fuse, as this will invalidate theNEXO warranty.CAUTION!This servicing instruction is for use by qualified service personnel only. To reduce the risk ofelectric shock, do not perform any servicing other than that contained in the operatinginstructions unless you are qualified to do so.Electromagnetic environmentsThe emission (this word describes all types of electromagnetic noise radiated by theequipment) requirements which have been applied to Nexo’s Powered TDcontrollers are thestringent requirements of the “Commercial and light industrial environment” of the productfamily EMC standard for emission. The immunity (this word describes the ability to cope with electromagnetic disturbancegenerated by other items and natural phenomena) requirements that we have consideredexceed those applicable to the “Commercial and light industrial environment” of theproduct family EMC standard for immunity. In order to provide a further safety margin, werecommend that you do not operate the Powered TDcontrollers in the presence ofelectromagnetic interference exceeding half of the limits found in this standard. These two EMC standards are those applicable to pro-audio equipment for theimplementation of the”EMC directive”.Analogue input signal cablesAnalogue signals should be connected to the input ports of the NXAMP4x1 PoweredTDcontroller via shielded twisted pair or Starquad cable fitted with XLR connectors on theNXAMP4x1 side. We recommend the use of low transfer impedance cables with a braidedshield and transfer impedance below 10 mΩ/m.The NXAMP4x1 Powered TDcontroller is intended to be used with symmetrical (balanced)sources (for instance a mixer, see figure bellow). You can see that the TDcontrollerprovides a low impedance path between pin 1 of its XLR connectors and its chassis. ThePAGE 21 OF 80
