8. Remove any rust or dirtfrom the wheel bolts,mounting surfaces andspare wheel.CAUTION:Never use oil or grease on wheel bolts. If you do,the bolts might come loose. Your wheel could falloff, causing a serious accident.9. Place the spare wheel on the wheel-mounting surface.CAUTION:Rust or dirt on the wheel, or on the parts towhich it is fastened, can make the wheel boltsbecome loose after a time. The wheel could comeoff and cause an accident. When you change awheel, remove any rust or dirt from the placeswhere the wheel attaches to the vehicle. In anemergency, you can use a cloth or a paper towelto do this; but be sure to use a scraper or wirebrush later, if you need to, to get all the rust ordirt off.10.
