It represented the largest lead lost by a 54-holeleader at the U.S. Open since Retief Goosenentered the final round three strokes ahead in2005 (won by Michael Campbell).Making his first U.S. Open start since 2003,60-year-old Tom Watson tied for 29th at PebbleBeach Golf Links. He is the only player to tee itup in all five U.S. Opens at Pebble Beach (tied for29th in 2010, tied for 27th in 2000, missed cut in1992, won in 1982, tied for 29th in 1972).
