The win camein Kim’s 78th TOUR start.The Shell Houston Open has had 21 playoffs—more than any event on TOUR other than the U.S.Open (32). Last year’s playoff was the first of theseason (15 events). The 14-event start without aplayoff represented the longest the TOUR has goneto start a season without a playoff since 1974when Lee Elder won in a playoff in the 16th eventof the year.The third-round leader/co-leader has won the ShellHouston Open 33 times, including eight of the lastnine years.
