At 13-under 267, Villegas’five-stroke win matched the largest at The HondaClassic, set by Jack Nicklaus (over Gary Player)in 1977. After entering the final round with athree-stroke advantage over Nathan Green andVijay Singh, Villegas saw that lead shrink to twoafter Singh drained a 45-foot birdie putt on thepar-3 fifth. Villegas then built his lead with threeconsecutive birdies on Nos. 8-10.NATHAN GREENThe 2010 win capped a whirlwind week forCamilo Villegas, who followed a tie for eighthat the Waste Management Phoenix Open witha trip to his native Colombia to help kick off thePacific Rubiales Bogota Open—a new event on theNationwide Tour. The 36-hour trip included a sponsordinner, youth clinic, 18-hole pro-am and a partyafterwards.
