The 27-year-oldMahan replaced a cracked driver early in thefinal round and then had an eagle on the par-513th hole and a pair of birdies on the 14th and16th holes to finish at 16-under 268. Mahan,whose first victory came at the 2007 TravelersChampionship, closed with consecutive bogey-free6-under 65s. Fowler, a 21-year-old PGA TOURrookie, had a final-round 68 for the second runnerupfinish of his young career, both of them inArizona, the first coming last fall. He missed birdiechances on the last three holes. South Korea’sY.E. Yang also shot a 65 to finish at 14-under,two off the pace. The 2009 PGA Championshipwinner led until his tee shot went in the water atNo. 17 and he made bogey.RICKIE FOWLERAt 27 years, 9 months, 11 days, Hunter Mahanjoined seven other U.S. natives under the ageof 30 with multiple PGA TOUR victories (DustinJohnson, J.B.
